It is with much sadness, that we announce the cancellation of our 2020 event.
An event of our size requires significant forward planning. With border restrictions still in place and no approvals yet for holding large-scale events, we do not believe that we will have adequate lead time to deliver this year’s event to our usual scale and standard.
We are understandably devastated. The Festival is a major economic driver for our region that has already struggled with the challenges of both drought and bush fires.
We encourage the many of you who had planned to visit us in October to still include Millmerran in your future travel plans. South East Queensland is a wonderful region to explore and we will be ready to welcome visitors with open arms!
To those of you that have shared such positive sentiments, memories and well wishes with us over the past few weeks, we are extremely grateful.
Our event has fostered a loyal following over the years and we love the friendship and comradery that we all share.
Our Festival is in so many ways a celebration of the Australian spirit, both past and present. How we handle this little bump in the road is testimony to that so while we might be down, we most certainly aren’t defeated!
We are now exploring whether it will be possible to hold our event in 2021 and hope to make an announcement on this shortly.
